“Wednesday! It’s after Tuesday.”–me

Okay, so I have to explain the situation. I was trying to talk Jackie and Grace into going out to the lake by Red Mountain on Wednesday after the bulk of our critiques are over. I said Wednesday and then heard the long dramatic pause that I usually receive from Jackie and Grace when the answer is a “no.” So, I followed up with the “It’s after Tuesday.” Moral of the story is that I say the most obvious things when my brain is fried.

Broken Drumstick

A sound. A sound so loud that is pulsing through your body. Releasing your inhabitions and completely letting go. A space closing in around you. People closing in around you. The bright lights. The smoke. The sounds of complete experimentation.

This was my adventure last night into a world completely foreign to anything I’ve ever known. A group of us went out to see Deerhunter and I have to admit, it was the most interesting people watching I have ever experienced. In a way, I was jealous. These people are so into this music, and are just so able to let loose and do whatever. They are carefree. And I wish I would have had a camera to catch some of their expressions. Jessica got some good pictures though.

The broken drumstick flew through the air and landed at my feet. I had found my free pizza of the night. But later, I saw the drummer walking around looking for the end. But that got me to thinking, are you really going to want the broken end of a drumstick. The silly thing is, that I wanted it, too. The drummer and I think alike. Nothing is as great as the broken end of a drumstick.

Obama Rally @ GT on Saturday morning

April 13, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I can’t wait to go to this. I’ve never been a part of a political rally before. It’s in the Yellow Jacket Park of the Georgia Tech Campus.
Here’s a short article clipping if you would like to read about it.

UK Captives

April 10, 2007 · 2 Comments

Just to veer off subject for a brief moment, I wanted everyone to get the chance to see this article. I’m sure everyone is aware of the UK captives that were held by the Iranian soldiers. This article is about one of the captives, Faye Turney, tells her story of how she was forced to write a letter for Iranian television broadcast. The article then goes on to discuss how people are criticizing Turney for having accepted such a large amount of money for the interview, which I feel a bit rude considering what she has been through. But you should read it for yourself.

This is an example of how communication is used in political ways to send a message to an entire country by corrosion, and how the media is used as the vehicle to relay this message. Iran has already tried to make several attempts at defending the statements taken by the captives.

“UK Captive ‘felt like a traitor’” was a very shocking article. I hope you get a chance to check it out.

This is the confession given to the Iranians, which now Turney is now admitting was forced. The BBC television interview with Ms. Turney is not yet available, but should be sometime soon.
